About the ‘Consumable Absurdity’ art show:
Gallery-O-Rama hosting an art show where we choose artists based on commonalities we see in their work.
From sculptures deriving from everyday objects of the 20th century, to photographs of real moments in the streets, these artists and street photographers share an undertone of absurdity, uncanny, and social commentary that everyday humans physically and mentally consume. Their works create conversation with one another and the viewer. We invite you to explore the absurd reality which we live in.
Featuring Artists:
Clint Imboden
3D sculpture artist, Clint Imboden, collects everyday objects from the mid 20th century re-creating sculptural pieces. Bringing new light to these mundane objects Imboden creates narratives that question social and political commentaries in today’s society.
James Shefik
Multi-disciplinary artist, James Shefik, creates handmade conceptual art, from everyday objects, that underlines human behavior’s absurdities and weaknesses. Altering everyday objects to create social and political commentary, Shefik recreates stories where the present and past have new meaning.
Candid City Street Photography Collective: Christine Kemp, Eric Davidove, Gerald Gutschmidt, and Tony Van Le.
San Francisco based street photography collective captures candid moments of the everyday. Each of their works create a variety of dialogue between the photographer, photograph and the viewer. Their photographs show us the uncanny, humorous, serendipitous side of the mundane.
